Kevin James has worked in various roles on and off the stage and screen. A versatile character actor, his recent projects include such diverse credits as the national tours of Henry V and The Sagas Of Noggin The Nog as well as a new UK production of The Laramie Project which received 5 star reviews and played to sell-out houses in London.
Other theatre credits include the national tours of Tess Of The D’Urbervilles, Babe The Sheep-Pig, As You Like It, Charlie And Lola's Best Bestest Play, and Charlotte’s Web; the UK premiere of Michel Marc Bouchard's drama Lilies; Father Nandru & The Wolves and The Sting at Wilton's Music Hall; an adaptation of the Marguerite Duras thriller A Place Without Doors; the world premiere of the musical Sunsets And Mornings; The Illustrated Games People Play at the Westminster Theatre in London; The Blue Monologues at the Shaw Theatre; and I Am Star Trek at the Edinburgh Festival.
Film work includes Edward Willow in Spooky Electric, Ryan, The Executioner in Old Sparky (a test commercial for lastminute.com), A Dark Story Of Love, Robin in the neo-noir thriller A Morass, and most recently as the lead in the psychological horror Chain, and the role of Simon Earnshaw in John Godber's latest feature film Last Laugh.
Voice work includes the classic serial The Hireling on BBC Radio 4, as well as assorted detectives, a nature trail of historical characters, and Oscar And Petra (an animated monkey and parrot) for Televirtual. He has also performed in The Mystery Of The Tolling Bell - a Sherlock Holmes adventure for blind and visually impaired audiences.
As a lighting designer, Kevin has worked on the UK premiere of Lilies and the London premiere of the hit off-Broadway musical Zanna, Don't! at The Space for Wild Oats Productions, Singin' In The Rain for Cork Opera House, the national tours of Heaven Eyes, I'm A Minger!, Salome and Le Moulin Magique, and for British Touring Shakespeare he has lit their London seasons of Henry V, Romeo And Juliet, Twelfth Night and Hamlet.
Other production roles include Technical Stage Manager on Around The World In 80 Minutes and Aladin Et La Lampe Enchantee for Theatre Sans Frontieres, and Out Of Our Heads at the Lyric Hammersmith Studio for the Actors Touring Company, and Production Electrician on Como Agua Para Chocolate and Here Be Monsters. Recently he has been engaged in various technical roles on Horrid Henry - Live And Horrid! on national tour and in the West End, and on tour with Charlie And Lola's Best Bestest Play for Watershed Productions.
